Shostakovich Choral Symphonies
We believe we are the only amateur orchestra in Europe to have performed all 15 of Shostakovich’s symphonies! Details of all our past concerts can be found here.
The Orchestra celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025 with a repeat performance of the 13th Symphony, in the year that marks the 50th anniversary of Shostakovich’s death, and (of particular resonance for this extraordinary work) a year of moving commemorations of the Holocaust.
We plan to perform the two other Shostakovich symphonies which involve a choir (Nos 2 and 3) again at some time in the next few years.
